Lela JamesLela Mary McFall-James was born October 13th, 1951 to the late Sherman and Virginia McFall.
Lela was called to rest February 28th, 2017 in Dierks, Arkansas, following a lengthy illness.
Lela confessed her hope in Christ at an early age with Graves Chapel Baptist church in Lockesburg, Arkansas.  She continued her belief in God at the Roland Piggee Baptist church, where she was a faithful and devoted member.
Lela attended Lockesburg High School and graduated in 1969 from Mineral Springs High School.  She furthered her education for 2 years at Texarkana College and later attended Southern Arkansas in Magnolia, Arkansas.  Lelareceived her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and later received her Master in Higher Education in 2011.
After she received her degree in Psychology, she later worked with the Division of Children and Family Services.  She was a Family Service worker for Miller and Hempstead County.  She served as the Howard County Supervisor for 18 years; she later retired after working many years with the State of Arkansas.
Lela was passionate about helping children and families.  She was on the Board of Directors for the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen in Nashville, AR.  Lela was a member of the Vista Corp and the Arkansas Travelors of Faith Choir.
Lela was dedicated in working as a member of Roland Piggee Memorial Baptist Church, where she tirelessly served on the Program Committee, Mission, Choir Member, Sunday school teacher and Church Clerk.
She fought a good fight and was not a complainer, she kept a smile and she pressed forward to do whatever she thought needed to be done.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Virginia McFall. One son: Terry Dawn Ellison, one sister: Gertie McFall Johnson, Five Brothers, Kary, Chester, Sherman Jr., Eugene, And Chris McFall.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one precious daughter: Amber James of Nashville, Arkansas, one brother: William Curtis(Bennie) McFall of Sebatian, Florida.  Her two special daughters: Belinda (Jerry) Bearden of Mineral Springs, Arkansas and Jasmine Miller of Fayetteville, Arkansas. One special son: Kioshi Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia.  Three Sister-in-laws: Sandra McFall and Earnestine McFall of Oaklawn, California and Madie McFall of Menteca, California. Best Friend: Mary Jo Marbles of Little Rock, AR and many other special friends.  Special Neighbors: Wes and Sheree Ware and other special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 11am-5pm Saturday at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be 11am Sunday, March 5 at Roland Piggee Memorial Baptist Church, 1415 Highway 27, Lockesburg, Arkansas.  Interment will be at Graves Chapel Memorial Cemetery in Lockesburg.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
