Marijuana allegedly found at drug screening

Alvin Phillips, Jr.

A Hope man was arrested last week after he allegedly showed up for court-ordered drug screening with bags of marijuana on his body.

Alvin Phillips, Jr., 18, of Hope, was arrested Friday after Hope Police officers were called to the Arkansas Probation and Parole office. Officers were told that Phillips had arrived at the office for the drug screening when his probation officer searched him finding five individually wrapped baggies of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana. Two more baggies were allegedly discovered on Phillips by the police officers upon Phillips' arrest.

He was taken to the Hempstead County Detention Facility.
