Mr. Joe Yvon Jordan

Mr. Joe Yvon Jordan was born in Chicago, Illinois to James and Marjorie Jordan on January 14, 1961. He was the youngest of three children. He transitioned this life surrounded by family and friends at UAMS, after a lengthy illness on February 25, 2017.

He attended Douglas Elementary School and Wendell Phillips High School. He accepted Christ at an early age. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports and westerns. He met and married the love of his life, Ms. Linda Strickland, on January 30, 2006. To this union, no children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Arthur James Jordan. He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife, Linda Jordan; his brother, Adrian Jordan, Sr. (Latricia); sister, Jamison Lynn Normet; four nieces, DeAnna Jordan, Natasha Petty, Travira Barnett, Renika Normet; three nephews, Antoine M. Jordan (Vallory), Adrian Jordan, Jr. (Stephanie), Sir William Normet; four stepchildren, Jessica, Chrystal, Chris and Trashea Strickland; nine grandchildren; two aunts, Mamie Staggers and family of Ozan, AR and Dora Jordan and family of Chicago, IL; one uncle, Lareter Jordan of Chicago, IL; cousins, Doris Banks and family, Edith Hodges of Chicago, IL, John Taylor and family, Ruth Johnson and family; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be 11am-5pm Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, March 11 at St. Luke CME Church. Burial will be at Gamble Cemetery in Ozan. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
