Mr. Willie Ashley Fulks

Mr. Willie Ashley Fulks was born October 14, 1932 in Prescott, Arkansas to Jim Fulks and Marcella Fulks. He had two brothers, John and J.D. Fulks and one sister, Wilma Fulks-Williams. He was in the military from 1951-1953. He married, Lucille Reed on May 31, 1955, four children were born to this union, Willie, William, Randy and Charlotte. They were married for 40 years until her death in 1995. He moved the family to Flint, Michigan in the 60’s, where he began working at General Motors until his retirement in 1984.
He departed this life on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at a Texarkana, Texas hospital.
Survivors include his one and only daughter, Charlotte Fulks; one brother, J.D. Fulks; two sisters-in-law, Louise Fulks and Velma Maxwell; five grandchildren, Latasha Boone, Shantay Fulks, Christine Allen, Shawn Fulks and Anthony Splan; nine great grandchildren, JaQuan Thornton, Tashniqua Boone, Tay-vionne Boone, Rochair Simmons, Jr., Cameron Simmons, Trinity and Leland Splan, Shawn Fulks, Jr., DeMari Gulley, Kingston Reynolds and Raquelle Simmons; four great-great grandchildren, Kendriel Valentine, Ja’Narie Thornton, Dearion Thornton and Ta’Vionne Boone, Jr.; one special niece, Irene Walker; three nephews, Clarence, Ray and Michael Williams; a host of other nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2pm Tuesday, March 14 at Hicks Memorial Chapel for funerals, 407 South Hazel Street, Hope. Burial will be at Cave Hill #2 Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
