Prescott’s Lady Cubs and Lady Wolves competed in the district cross country meet Saturday, November 3rd at Prescott High School.

The Lady Cubs won and defended the district title (of 6 years straight), by battling and holding off nemesis rival Genoa Central in a very tightly contested race by a mere 5 points! This was the first time all season that Prescott has beat Genoa Central.

The Lady Wolves battled it out, but fell short in the end finishing runner-up to Bismarck in the senior girls race.

Winning the district individual title was Lady Cub Abby Morrow with a time of 13:54.

Other medalists from Prescott were Beth Formby 3rd, Kaelynn Karlovec 5th, Anna Byers 7th, and Anna McKinnon 9th. Also competing from District Champions from Prescott were Mallory Ledbetter, Sierra Mills, Tori Stigaullde, Jasmine Box, Mary Beth McRoy, Emily Sullins, Shaleigh Hodges, Jacklyn Wingfield, Bobbie, Bunnell and Mary Kate Beck.

In the senior girls race, medalists were Laura Maxwell 4th, Courtnie Wayne 7th, Abby Wren 9th and Zoie Otwell 10th. Also competing for the Lady Wolves were Addi Byers, Stephane Jones, Kenzie Walker, Taylor Hodges, Taylor Tompkins and Lexie Ledbetter. Brittney Williams is the team manager.

In the children’s 1.2 mile race, Prescott 6th grader Jamia Smith took 1st place, followed by Olivia Williams 2nd, Tyler Morrow 6th, Trace Hall 7th, Melelina McRoy 8th and Tamia Gulley 10th.

I would like to thank the many people who helped by volunteering their time to make this a successful meet! We had many parents, students, and supporters as spotters, finish line workers and timers/recorders, booster club, Don Still and crew from Hope Runner’s Club, and Jeff Butler, who maintained our course all season and prepared it for the meet!

Prescott’s Lady Wolves will complete their season next Saturday, November 10th in the 3-A State Meet, which will be held at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs. The girls compete at 1:15.
