A Prescott man has been charged with homicide in the death of a Tennessee woman during a November traffic accident in Hempstead County.
John David Coe, 35, was extradited from Bowie County, Texas Tuesday after being arrested on warrants for one count of Negligent Homicide, one count of Battery in the First Degree, two counts of Aggravated Assault, two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Family Member, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The charges are related to the accident at the westbound 33-mile-marker of I-30 on November 16, 2012, that killed Kathryn Nevil, 38, of Franklin, Tennessee.
Nevil was a passenger in a 2002 Chevy SUV that was struck by Coe’s 2008 Toyota Tacoma pick-up. Coe was also injured in the accident, as were Nevil’s children, ages 12 and 9. Nevil’s husband, who was driving the SUV, was not injured. Two young girls riding with Coe were also not injured.
Coe was transferred to the Hempstead County Detention Center Tuesday where he was waiting a first court appearance.
