Road Work Ahead For Hempstead County

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Hempstead County, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The purpose of this project is to resurface 4.1 miles of Highway 278 between the town of Washington and State Highway 32.

Redstone Construction Company, Inc., of Little Rock was awarded the contract of $885,119.81.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected in mid-2017.
