By Kevin McKinnon, 10/24/12 10:29 AM

Joseph Thomas Bittle, John Huddleston and William Rigney

Three Hempstead County men were arrested Tuesday after allegedly being caught in the act of stealing scrap metal from an abandoned house. Joseph Thomas Bittle, 23, John Huddleston, 19, and William Rigney, 46, were arrested after a woman reported confronting the men as they were removing metal from an old house that belongs to her father.

The woman says she was driving home when she spotted a white, 90′s model, extended cab Ford pick-up in front of the house at 468 Highway 355. She told deputies she stopped and went up to the house where she saw the men loading the metal into the back of the truck. She says she told them they had no business there and they sped off.

Deputies Gary Dorman and Justin Crane say they located the pick-up at 586 Highway 355 and took the three men into custody. They were charged with Theft of Property(Scrap Metal) and booked into the Hempstead County Detention Center to await a first court appearance.

  1. There was no abandoned house. It was a creekbed way back in the woods. Idk where they got that from because there was nothing at all back there. And for the record I was sworn to that we had permission. I wouldn't steal somethin.

  2. WAT THA FUK WAS YALL NIGGAZ THANKIN BRO! LEAST THA CHARGES GT DROPED LOL LESSON LEARNED

  3. Lol I didn't do that shit intentionally. Like I said, I was guaranteed that we had permission. And there was no house. I'm not a damn thief

  4. This is my in-laws house. Granted nobody lives there at the moment, there is still a house. You don't go onto private property taking things. That is stealing! They deserve punishment, maybe you should pick better company!

Ok Here it is let me lay it for all of you to read. It went like this I got my kids from school and my son notice a white truck over at my father in laws old house place. Yes nobody lives there that is true. Don't have a clue about the creek bed Austin is talking about b/c They were in the yard getting all the scrap metal. I did not go to the woods I pulled in the yard so that lie he is telling is a big one. Further more I think I will talk to my father in law maybe trespassing charges need to be filed since we have signs up and you know of a creekbed again our property that AUSTIN has to talk about. A thief is a damn Thief.I pulled up and ask what (speaking to Joseph) he was doing..I ask 3 times. Might I add in the yard house right next to us. they jumped in the vehicle when I told them to unload our stuff they removed one thing and jumped in the vehicle and were gone. So that still makes you all a thief b/c you drove off with our stuff. Just because nobody lives there that is still my father in laws property and his damn stuff. So I will be in contact with the cops tomorrow since you want to get on here austin and gloat! You did wrong admit it and move on saying you did not do something you were red handed caught doing does not help things. News flash son nobody gets arrested if there is no guilt. In the end it is scrap I would hate to know that to be on my record go get you a job and stop stealing other peoples things.
