Tidwell busted for drugs

PRESCOTT – A traffic stop in Hemsptead County led to the arrest of a Prescott man recently.

According to interim Police Chief Joey Beavers, Hempstead County Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Crane stopped a vehicle driven by Tobias Tidwell, 38, of Prescott, at the 31-mile marker on I-30 on March 1 for careless and prohibitive driving. A search of the vehicle turned up what was believed to be drug residue. A check ran on Tidwell turned up a warrant by the South Central Drug Task Force, and showed he was on parole. The SCDT was called and arrested him.

The Prescott Police Department was called in as Tidwell is a resident of Prescott. A warrant was obtained to search his home, where officers found more than 100 pills believed to be ecstasy. Beavers said the pills were packaged and ready for resale. The case is being handled by the SCDT.
