Timothy Roger Hoover, dear child of God, bright-haired boy and well – loved son and only child of Rita Hoover and Wendell Hoover, died in Conway, Arkansas, on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. He was 40 years old.

Timothy was born August 14, 1976 in Texarkana Texas to devoted parents, who undertook the journey – and steep learning curve – of meeting their son’s severe health and safety needs. Over time, Rita took on the role of tiger-mom, keeping vigil over her son and serving later as a compassionate advocate for others with profound disabilities.

Timothy’s many care needs during his formative, early years were met by his parents, and also by specialized community-based programs, particularly at Howard County Children’s Center in Nashville, Arkansas. At the age of twenty-four and until his death, Timothy’s complex health care needs were met by the Arkansas human development center system. Timothy’s home was Conway Human Development Center, where he was known as Timbo-Jesse.

Timothy never walked a step and he said few words but he conveyed unmistakable love, pride and happiness to others. He could and did touch deeply the hearts of all.

Timothy is survived by his mother, Rita Hoover-McConnell (Jim) of Maumelle, AR, his father Wendell Hoover of Nashville, AR, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and by his CHDC family.

Visitation will be at 12 noon Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, Arkansas; with funeral services following at 1: 00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Families & Friends of Care Facility Residents / Coalition for Community of Care (FF-CFR), c/o Alan Fortney, Treasurer, 37 Yazoo Circle, Maumelle, AR 72113.
