Two people were injured in a two vehicle accident in Prescott Monday evening. The accident occurred at East Main and 5th Street around 6:11 p.m. when a 86 Toyota Corolla driven by Corey Turner, 23, was traveling south on East 5th Street North and pulled out in front of an 86 Toyota pickup that was traveling west on East Main Street driven by Benjamin Cason, 51. Cason’s truck struck the side of Turner’s car, causing enough damage to likely total the car.
Turner was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center in Hope by the Nevada County Ambulance Service. Cason, who complained of a sore shoulder, refused ambulance transport.
Turner may have darted out onto East Main from East 5th North because there was no stop sign there. However, the reason he didn’t see a stop sign at the intersection is because police say he was driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
