Latest Weather Watches & Warnings

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 4 a.m. Wednesday for Hempstead, Nevada, Miller and Lafayette County.

A powerful storm system will move through the region tonight bringing accumulating snow to much of southwest Arkansas tonight. In addition, a tight pressure gradient will result in northwest winds gusting to near 35 mph at times tonight creating areas of blowing snow which will reduce visibilities. Snowfall accumulations of four to five inches will be possible across the warning area through tonight.

A wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow will quickly transition to all snow by early to mid evening and continue through tonight.  Roadways may become hazardous due to snow accumulations and possibly ice if previous rain water and melted snow refreezes.

A winter storm warning for blowing heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
