A Dallas woman had a close call in Hempstead County Christmas evening when her car slid down a hill and came to rest on the concrete wall of a creek.
The woman had stopped in Hope before heading to a family Christmas in Blevins. The accident happened about five miles south of Blevins on Highway 29 around 5:15 p.m.
The woman, who was uninjured, was able to climb out the passenger side door.
Her car had to wait until a later time to be towed from the scene as all available wreckers were being used to recover vehicles along I-30 at the time.
The car was towed from the creek on Wednesday by Reese’s Towing and Recovery.
